Asplundh
Is it just me or when you see one of those orange Asplundh trucks do the words
"Ass Plunge" go through your head?

Yep. Better yet is a locally based trucking company we have up here. Their name is (and I'm not making this up) - A. Duie Pyle
http://www.aduiepyle.com/
I'd hate to see an "accident" between an Asplundh and A. Duie Pyle truck.

There's a company around here named Onan, and they drive white vans... I guess they don't read their Bible much.

Jim - ya know, I've probably got one of the sickest imaginations in the blogosphere, but the particular thought you mentioned never crossed my mind.
I'm handing the "king twisted" crown to you :-)

Oh, wow. The "king twisted" crown. I don't know what to say. I never thought this day would come. You like me! You really like me!
Or worry about my sanity, but either way, Woo hoo!
Anybody out there who could make up a little "king twisted" crown graphic?

Meeting Psychology
The Pessimist: Our meeting is cut back to 30 minutes? We'll never cover everything in that time!
The Optimist: Our meeting is cut back to 30 minutes? We'll concentrate on the important things and everything will be fine.
The Realist: Our meeting is cut back to 30 minutes? That means I'm allowed to kick out the teeth of any one of you plebians who starts regurgitating inane drivel that does not concern, and I mean DIRECTLY concern, the actual job oriented requirements and objective of this meeting. We'll be able to cover everything from a regular hour and a half meeting and I won't be subjected to your pathetic life stories and humorless anecdotes on a frikken Monday morning while supressing my urge to scream at and/or throttle any number of you on my way back to my cube where I have actual work to do. Work that is waiting for me in a not-being-completed-while-I'm-in-this-frikken-meeting state. You remember work, right? That shit we're all being paid for? All right! Let's get this bitch of a meeting moving!
(I'm a realist.)

the company I used to work for had a policy that all meetings below exec level were conducted standing up, with no food or drink allowed and a maximum run time of 45 mins - it's amazing how focused you get after being forced to stand for half an hour!

Why do I get the feeling that Helen will submit as many different answers as possible, just so she can see all the different Cusack's?
BTW, I'm apparently "Gib," from "The Sure Thing" which as far as I can tell, is the ONLY Cusack movie I've never seen. It seems my level of beer consumption was the cause....

HA! As I said on LeeAnn's site:
I WANTED to answer like Marty "Grosse Point Blank". What I got is "Lloyd Dobber-Romantic. Adorable. Determined."
Not sure about the adorable part, but the rest fit.

Not sure about the adoreable part? Pshaw.
I wanted the Grosse Point answers too, but being as I've killed more beers than people, I didn't get that result.

Campbells's Soup is Good Food
Campbells' is donating up to 5 million cans of soup to the hungry. They're already well over a million. One can is donated for each participant in their NFL team popularity poll. All you need to do to increase their donation by a can is go to
this site and vote for your favorite team.
That's pretty cool.
