I get up this morning and cruise the website of the fishwrapper that passes as my local paper. Without getting too specific (so as to protect my anonymity, not this fuckface's), some out-of-town, single-minded, jerkoff runs to the paper and makes a stink about a minor detail in one of my colleagues projects. Really just obviously trying to get some attention; because the complaint he raises is beyond moot considering that this kind of concern was not only addressed from the outset; but satisfied beyond a reasonable doubt.
Seriously, the guy was such a smartass in the newspaper interview; just talking with such arrogance about something he knew nothing about. If I was Nancy Pelosi, I would say that I'd punch him in the face. Fortunately, I'm not fueled by crazyjuice and self-hatred; so I didn't really feel like punching him in the face. I did, however, feel like writing an editorial to the paper, and telling them how stupid it was of them to front-page such a minor complaint when they hadn't said a word in the past about how far ahead of schedule and budget the project was.
Then I got to work. My colleague, the guy heading up this giant, three year project had resigned, effective of the next few days. Now, maybe these two events are unrelated; and I seriously doubt that anyone in the senior leadership group would ask for this guy's resignation based on this article. He just does too good of a job, and it was too minimal of a complaint (considering it was addressed from the beginning) to send the guy away. Seriously, just knowing the guy, I think he said "Fuck this. I work my ass off too hard to plan a timeline and budget for such a huge project and still come well within my estimates for some asshole to come in and nitpick about something so incidental." Seriously, the paper said nothing when things were good, but as soon as some single-minded fool comes to them with something that probably won't even be detrimental, they print it on the first page. Hell, I'm frustrated; I can only imagine how he must feel.
It's just a goddamn shame is all, and it's been pissing me off all day. Sorry if this post is ambiguous, but I don't want to give up where I live or work. Though the few of you that know where I live could probably performa a simple websearch and come up with the details if you're curious.
