1 its unbelievable that she is representing afghanistan, first off- i dont think afghan women or the afghan people want a woman who cheated on her husband and went wild in the community and was/is none as a hoar to be representing them- this was long before the pagent- all afghans know her reputation of being incredibly cold-hearted especially to her husband, who brought her over from pakistan, gave her everything she wanted , but that wasnt enough for her, she took his money, his good name, and his heart- and killed his spirit....yeah thats who afghans really want representing them

2 I am happy to see a girl representing an Arab country where rules are against showing body parts. Those f****** arab countries are ruled by the religion, all laws are based on religions, all women canTT show body parts, in those countries, the women are not considered more than dogs. And the idiot of president in Afghanistan is angry seing this girl half naked, he should visit highschools in American , he would get an Heart attack. If the Big developped countries were ruled by religions, they wouldnt have the big and rich economy they have right now and people would be at church every Sunday, and there would be no contests to see who are the most beautiful girls in the world. 4 The moron Sheela that said that Afghanistan is an "Arab country" needs to get a map out so she can find out that Afghanistan is NOT an Arab country. They DONT speak Arabic. They are NOT Arab people. They are West Asians, have a completely different culture and have nothing to do with Arabs. By the way most Arab countries DO NOT have a law requiring women to wear head covers, go back to school so you dont have to make such stupid comments.

5 All say anything you want. It is a free world. All I have to say is that, first of all no matter what you do, doesn't make all happy; specially Afghans. Just wake up and smell the coffee. It is the 21st century and one more thing, let one do whatever she/he wants to. None of anyone's DAMN business. We all have done something bad in our lives, and what has happened, representing Afghanistan, was not such a bad thing. There are Afghan strippers and convience me how of a great contribution they are doing for the community. At least this was done for a good reason. U all need to educate yourselves and leave one alone and GET A LIVE.

7 I wish Vida would take the time to really get her story straight. The Orange County Magazine ( a free advertisment publication) has recently publsihed an article about her applauding her for defying her religion and the Afghan culture...Since the begining of this fiasco, all elements of her story keep changing. I would like to ask Vida, if the prize she is paying for some cheap lies about her changing story about coming to the States, her life story, her education, where she lives, what she believes in, and what she wants to do for Afghanistan, her parents, is worth all the real values that she has given up...What Afghanistan does need are honest, educated, and independent women with some brains, and a pride about who they really are. I admit, Vida is a beautiful 32+year-old woman, who could make good on her wrong by first stopping to spread more lies about her and who she really is. Sweeping generalization about the mistreatment of ALL Afghan women by ALL Afghan men and their Husbands may be a personal story of Vida's own or her family's lives; however, it is not an indication of the prevailing culture of Afghanistan. Vida must remember that it was because of the current political and social issues of Afghanistan and it was under the name of Afghansitan, that she attracted the media and all the publicity surrounding her, not her beauty. After all, she must have not been that beautiful, or at least she would have made the top ten list...or was honesty, and having some knowledge and pride about your country also part of the requirements to win? Vida must learn that the number one virue in life is : Telling the Truth...and the truth is that the prize to win the miss earth pagan was some $ 10,000. which must have been an attractive sum to Vida, and yes it was not going to be sent to help some Afghan woman or child. After all, Vida must agree with me that $ 10K is not much money to live a luxurious WESTERN life style. If being in a beauty pagan was of such lasting success and glamour, some Misses would not be selling beauty products to sustain themselves.
